ABOUT ME

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over a decade dedicated to specializing in Reproductive Mental Health and nearly 15 years in the counseling field.  I work with individuals, couples and families for dealing with crisis, general life issues and pre-existing mental health diagnosis, as well those dealing with compromised fertility.   I maintain a private practice in Fairfax, Virginia serving the entire Northern Virginia, Washington D.C. and Southern Maryland areas.  Clients that are not able to come for in-office visits due to location can call to discuss options that may include phone consultations or  Skype.  I have clients in the UK, Dubai and California successfully working with me on-line for consultation and coaching so don't let distance stand in your way to getting help.

I have enjoyed my role as a mental health therapist for nearly 15 years.  I have a Master's degree in Counseling and Human Behavior from George Mason University, where I graduated first in my class.  I have served as a counselor with the seriously mentally ill and their families, in a domestic violence shelter for women, at the Department of Justice as the primary in-house Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor.  After suffering with infertility in my life and becoming resolved with my family building choices, I opened a private practice in order educate, support and improve the field of reproductive psychology.

In addition to being a prominent infertility therapist, I have presented at RESOLVE conferences, Genetics & IVF seminars, The Bridge Fertility Center in the UK and to general audiences on the topics of Donor Egg, Choosing a Donor, Decision Crossroads, Grief & Loss, Adoption vs. Egg Donor and many more fertility related topics.  As the EAP Counselor for DOJ, I traveled extensively doing workshops and seminars on Stress Reduction, Dealing with Difficult People, Diversity, Time Management and grief debriefings for offices dealing with a sudden or tragic loss.

I have an eclectic theoretical background that is my framework for working with clients.  I am interactive, solution-focused and utilize cognitive-behavioral skills as a therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I meet each client where they are and help them build on their strengths, cope with their current life stressors and assist in the dilemmas, challenges and demoralizing journey of infertility.  My clients work hard and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
